THE SOLUTION TO SANTA MONICA’S HYPER-DEVELOPMENT PROBLEM

By Santa Monica Coalition for a Livable Community (SMCLC)

Almost five million NEW square feet of development is heading to our city – the equivalent of almost NINE new Santa Monica Place Malls!¹

Poor city planning has had horrendous effects on Westside traffic. Imagine adding nine new Santa Monica Place Malls!

Big developers are spending big money to elect a City Council that will do what they want: approve 100% of their projects, just as Council has done in the past.

Follow the money. See for yourself how big developers are trying to buy our elections.²

When developers want to build bigger projects than zoning allows, they ask City Council to change the zoning. 100% of the time, Council has caved in!³

Vote for Ted Winterer and Richard McKinnon for City Council. They are the ONLY major candidates who will stand up to big developers and fight for residents. Let’s take our city back from big money interests.

SMCLC is a nonprofit, all volunteer group of Santa Monica residents concerned about unsustainable development in our city, the effects it has on traffic and our quality of life, and the influence developer money has on our local elections.
