GRANT SCHOOL GIVES BUDGET CUTS A HALLOWEEN SURPRISE

The students, parents, teachers and staff of Grant Elementary School in Santa Monica will rally to confront budget cuts head on at the annual Grant Fall Festival and Halloween Extravaganza on Saturday, October 27.

All proceeds from the big Halloween celebration — replete with treats, festivities and exciting rides — will help fund some of the school’s programs that were left unfunded in for the school year, as well as paying for some basic necessities and vital upgrades in services.

Parent leaders at Grant created the Fall Festival, and hope for record crowds. It will feature rides, game booths, a petting zoo, various food vendors and food trucks, “incredible entertainment” and a marketplace with an amazing array of products from over 20 local vendors.

The rides include a 25-foot Gondola Ferris Wheel, Large Castle Bounce House, Double Swing, Rock ‘n Roll aka Tubs of Fun, Colossal Giant Slide, Panda Bounce, Giant Obstacle Course, 24’ Rock Climbing Wall, Elephant Ride

Other attractions include a golf competition, bowling, bean bag toss, 7-11, Fish Bowl, Foot Ball, Spin Art, and several booths designed by Grant students.

On the Festival menu are Dogtown, Deano’s Deli, Masa Tamales, Z Garden Mediterranean, Popstar Popcorn, Menchies, Frozen Yogurt, Crepes, The Slice Pizza – and a Bake Sale of yummy treats!

Other attractions include a Petting Zoo, Airbrush Face Painting and
Tattoos, Photo Booth, a Haunted House (from 6 to 8 PM) and a
Halloween “Monster Mash” Dance party (6:00 – 8:00 PM) Hallway.

The school is located at 2368 Pearl Ave in Santa Monica. The festival will begin at 3:00 and conclude at 8:00 PM.
