MUSIC ON SUNDAY
The first annual Santa Monica Jubilee Jazz Festival, will be held Sunday, September 9, from 1 to 8pm at Mt. Olive Church.
The day-long event will feature a variety of local bands playing straight-ahead swing and Latin Jazz. The festival will also feature a Swing Tea, at which English tea and scones will be served, and concert-goers will have the opportunity to dance to swing-style jazz.
The Gonzalo Bergaro Quartet, The Janice Anderson Quintet, Bill Cunliffe with Imaginacion, The Christian Jacob Trio, The Susie Hansen Latin Band, and The Mark Tortorici Quintet will perform..

And at 7 pm, at the Ruskin Group Theater, Library Girl will present Songs of Love + Hate.
It will feature a stunning evening of words + music with Zander Schloss (Circle Jerks, The Weirdos, Joe Strummer, the dynamic duo of Sean + Zander), Cliff Wagner (Hot Club of LA, Cliff Wagner + the Old #7), and Julie Christensen (former singer for Leonard Cohen, Divine Horsemen now celebrating her latest solo album, Weeds Like Us). Mason Summit opens the show.
