AIA PLANS MODERNIST DESIGN TOUR

The Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ new Modernist /Contemporary Tour will make its debut in Santa Monica on Sunday, September 23, with the 850 square foot house, Harwell Harris designed for John Entenza,, the Arts & Architecture editor who launched the Case Study Program in the 1940s.

The Entenza house, in Santa Monica Canyon, was renovated by Santa Monica architect Michael Folonis in 2010.

The AIA tour will continue October 7 with a tour of two small houses in Inglewood designed by Rudolph Schindler – one of which was remade by Steve Erlich. A Schindler apartment will be shown in November and a Gregory Ain apartment is scheduled for December.

Tickets are $25 to $35, and the tours are limited to 100 people. aialosangeles.org.
