The Center for the Study of Political Graphics will hold an online Labor Day Auction, Sept 1 – 9. All proceeds will go to support CSPG’s work, its unique collection and programming.

Rare and vintage U.S. posters from the 1960s & 70s including Women’s Rights, War and Peace, Police Repression, Political Prisoners, Labor, Immigration, Latin America, Civil Rights, the Black Power Movement, and the Environment.

Over 40 original posters from Cuba produced by the Organization in Solidarity with the People of Africa, Asia, and Latin America (OSPAAAL). OSPAAAL is a non-governmental publisher of political literature and propaganda based in Havana, Cuba. OSPAAAL was founded in 1966 during a conference in Havana, attended by delegations from 82 Asian, Latin American, and African countries. OSPAAAL advocates social justice and works toward solidarity with various countries, particularly third world countries.

Stunning 1980s Polish film and theatre lithographs, generated from the “Polish School of Poster,” an extension of the Graphic Arts Department at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. The poster tradition of Poland was established in the late 1890s, thrived until the 1920s and stalled during World War II. Its renaissance began in the 1950s with Henryk Tomaszewski, who wished that the new generation of posters “be read and not looked at. The “Polish School of Poster” is now dormant.

When available, CSPG keeps a minimal amount of duplicates of a unique title in the archive to have circulating and non-circulating copies in the collection. Posters are only made available for auction, sale or trade after this collection condition has been met.

The Center for the Study of Political Graphics (CSPG) is an educational and research archive that collects, preserves, documents, and circulates posters relating to historical and contemporary movements for peace and social justice. CSPG demonstrates the power and significance of these artistic expressions of social change through traveling and online exhibitions, lectures, publications, and workshops. Through its diverse programs, It is reclaiming the power of art to educate and inspire people to action.
