close friend of Che’s first wife Hilda Gadea, writer of many books on Cuba, Latin America, Che Guevara, and miscellaneous related political topics; publisher of books on similar subjects.
Novelist, poet, essayist, artist, and founder of the Italian Che Guevara Foundation which publishes an annual volume of documents, and this year hosts its 14th conference on Che, in Sardinia, he is in Los Angeles in quest of backing for a film he has written.

Che Guevara: Where You’d Never Imagine Him (2004) 55 MIN
Assembled by Cuban director Manuel Perez, this documentary creates a complete portrait of famed revolutionary Che Guevara. Using rarely seen archival footage and photographs, the film follows Guevara from his early childhood in Argentina and the famed motorcycle trip recounted in 2004′s The Motorcycle Diaries to his 1967 execution in Bolivia. Bonus features include rare earlier short films on Guevara’s life and activism.

In September 1998, five Cuban men were arrested in Miami by FBI agents. Gerardo Hernandez, Ramón Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and René Gonzalez were accused of the crime of conspiracy to commit espionage.
RENÉ González Sehwerert, one of Cuba’s five anti-terrorist heroes, was released from prison October 7, 2011 having served in full the brutal and unjust sentence he was given.
