COMMITTEE FOR RACIAL JUSTICE MAKES SCHEDULE CHANGES

The Committee for Racial Justice will NOT hold a workshop this Sunday, May 13th, as it has an opportunity to hold a program led by Crossroads, one of the best anti-racism training groups in the country, on Sunday, May 27.

The Crossroads Anti-racism Organization & Training program will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. on the 27th at Virginia Avenue Park in Santa Monica. It provides anti-racism organizing and training to institutions, communities and individuals desiring to dismantle systemic racism.

It offers a power analysis that identifies barriers to authentic multicultural diversity, and creates anti-racist/anti-oppressive policies and practices by developing culturally competent teams better prepared to meet the needs of their community.

The program in Santa Monica is sponsored by the Committee for Racial Justice and the United Methodist Church. To RSVP, please call 310-399-1631 or email sanctuaryofchange@yahoo.com

Donations are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Teachers and administrators are admitted free. Others who would like scholarships to attend should email Janet G. McKeithen, who said, “I hope you can make it and that you will spread the word. We’re in it with you for the long haul.”
