RUN 4 JAPAN RAISES $150,000

The Youth Run 4 Japan on Sunday, March 27, raised a total of $150,000
for Japanese earthquake/tsunami relief.

According to the Santa Monica Fire Department, an estimated 4,000 people either ran the two-mile course up and down the beach or watched. Runners were asked to make $10 donations. Additional money was raised from T-shirt sales and other contributions.

Actor Josh Duhamel, his wife, Fergie, Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton, actors Katee Sackhoff, Dianna Agron, Aedin and Austin Mincks and David Joyner
all made the run.

In January, 2010, Duhamel led 2,500 runners in a similar beach run and raised over $100,000 for Red Cross Haitian earthquake relief.

Run receipts will go to the American Red Cross for Japan disaster relief. Checks and money orders are still being accepted and should be made out to “American Red Cross — Japan relief” Donations may also be charged on credit cards or donors can text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
