We  submitted the following plan to the SM City Council on Tuesday, Jan. 26th. This is a product of various conversations, past documents and meetings with the Juarez family and community leaders, You can read the media write up at: www.smdp.com. The City Council directed City staff to review the document, meet with community stakeholders and report back to the Council on what direction to take.

Today we discussed this document at the Youth Resource Team meeting at Virginia Park. The City is looking at budget cuts so we really need to assess how we can create a taskforce and begin regional youth violence prevention work creatively. I welcome input from everyone, especially ideas that are cost neutral.
