City, FAA Head for Court
Tweet Earlier today, the City of Santa Monica filed declarations, a 40-page legal brief, and hundreds of pages of exhibits with the Federal Aviation Administration, opposing the federal agency’s legal assault on a new city ordinance banning large Jets from Santa Monica Airport. The City alleges that the airport has no runway safety areas (RSAs) to protect against overruns, and banning the big jets reduces the possibility of accidents. One of the declarations, from safety expert... Read More
Good Question
Tweet In a recent public meeting on the matter of extending light rail to Santa Monica, planners aired an idea of laying the track on the median that runs down the center of Olympic. If that occurred the coral trees would be chopped down. Do the residents involved in Treesavers know of this? Have they voiced an opinion? -Peter Tigler, Santa Monica SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Good Question", url: "http://www.santamonicadispatch.com/2008/04/good-question/" }); Read More
