And Santa Monica…
I was under the impression that our fine city of Santa Monica had perfect
weather. Warm, carefree days filled with sunshine and soothing breezes. Well, hold your horses, fair residents of Santa Monica. Apparently, over on the EAST coast, they do things differently. And by “different,” I don’t mean “unique” or “unusual”: I mean better. Yes folks, I have ventured to Florida, and they are having perfect summer days right now. Highs in the 70s and 80s, cool ocean breezes, and plenty of sunshine. And what do we have to show for ourselves? Highs in the low 60s, clouds, chilly nights that require jackets, and even some possible rain showers towards the middle of next week. I am surprised, ashamed, and confused to realize that our fair city does not have perfect weather, and that another place exists where the weather is better. In fact, perhaps I might even go so far as to say that I am jealous of Florida. Oh, wait, what’s that you say? That it is so hot and humid in Florida in the summer that walking to the mailbox is a draining excursion? Ooooh, well then maybe Santa Monica is better. Maybe we’re not better at the moment, but on the whole, year round, we still have lots to be proud of and thankful for when it comes to weather.
