Major Anti-War Rally is Saturday
Thousands of people are expected to gather at Hollywood and Vine at noon
Saturday, March 15, the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, to protest the war.
Similar protests will take place simultaneously in many other cities in this country, as well as in cities all over the world.
Scheduled to appear at the march and rally are Santa Monica resident, writer-director Paul Haggis, writer Gore Vidal, a longtime critic of American imperialism, Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic, author of “Born on the Fourth of July,” and Congresswoman and Presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney.
To date, over a million Iraqi people have been killed, and another two million have fled the country. Tens of thousands of American soldiers have been wounded and nearly 4,000 have been killed.
70 percent of the American people oppose the war.
A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) is organizing the protest. For more information, call 310 720 5068 or email
